Taking the plunge!

Here goes! Starting this blog feels like diving into the deep end of the pool. I've been lurking (blog term recently picked up) on so many of the great blogs out there that I just couldn't resist joining the party!

Then blogger panic set in. I've now read so many blogging articles, books, blogging blogs, blah, blah, blah, thinking that I had to know it all just to start. Well, as you can guess, it didn't ease my anxiety one iota.

Then help arrived from Shawn, our graphic designer (and experienced blogger) here at Michael Miller Fabrics. Sensing my non-productiveness, she casually handed me a print-out titled Eliminate "Writers Block" Forever.

It's short, to the point and just what I needed. Thanks Shawn!

To start things off on the right foot (pun intended) I'm sharing with you one of my favorite tutorials: Cloth Baby Shoes from Stardust Shoes.

Joanna's blog was one of the early ones that got me started in this addictive past-time. I simply googled
the words Dick and Jane fabrics on blogs to see what was being done with our fabric and her wonderful projects came up.

I was hooked!

As most of you know one link leads to another, and it goes on and on. Next thing you know it's way too late and you've got to be up at some unfriendly hour!

These are too fun to make just one (pair)! One idea leads to another and another, (kinda like blogging?)

Enjoy!
Kathy

I LOVE Michael Miller fabrics! And I love this blog. These baby shoes ar just the ticket. I have a 6 yr old special needs grandchild that I can adapt the pattern for. She's in a wheel chair with no need for "hard" shoes. So these will be PERFECT! Thanks so much!

Hi Kathy,
I like the idea of cloth baby shoes! I am not sure if I can make those shoes in size 6 months old and up. The patterns are for 0-6 months old. How can I measure them in 6 months old and up?

wonderful to see your blog up! re: writers block article, 'stop thinking about it and just do it... polish it until it shines' is really the best advice for many creative projects.

I've added you to my 'cache'.
