I just want to thank you for taking this step and making safe products. Hopefully, this law will be amended to allow handcrafters to certify their products are safe by proving they are using safe supplies.
Hurray for Michael Miller! I'm positive you'll see an increase in your business for sure, particularly if the CPSIA is amended to allow components testing (and it would be supremely foolish for them not to do so).
Thank you very much for testing your fabrics to ensure they comply with the CPSIA! You really are setting a great standard for other fabric manufacturers and have given me hope in this time of uncertainty.
You guys are awesome! Thanks so much for thinking of your customers first! (Now wouldn't it be ridiculous if come August we all have to get them re-tested at the same lab?!)
Thank you so much for doing this. Many of our manufacturers have given us the run around. MM fabrics are by far the favorite of our customers and this will ensure your continued success!
Thanks so much for doing the testing. I did not get the email sent to customers, so was glad to read about this in blogland. I hope other companies will follow your lead and get the testing done!
Because we change our minds a lot! This is the best way to share the latest trends, projects and events as they're happening. Besides all that, we plan on MAKING IT FUN!
Who's writing this?
I'm Kathy Miller, co-owner and creative director of Michael Miller Fabrics.
My Background
Sewing and painting led to painting on clothes for others which eventually led to getting serious and majoring in textile design at The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. After graduating in 1976, I spent the next 23 years traveling the globe, designing for a variety of markets and companies. In 1999 Michael Steiner and I started Michael Miller Fabrics LLC. (the company name derived from combining both names, clever eh?)
