It's A Girl Thing color story giveaway

Congratulations!
TheaM
You're the winner for last week's
color story giveaway
Please email your name and street address to: info@micahelmillerfabrics.com

Now for today's color story:

Here at Michael Miller we try our best to please you all.
( that's not just schmoozing, I really do mean it)
That means listening to what you ask for and what you buy

The majority of you have made it very clear:
When it comes to the colors you want for your children,
It's Pink for girls, Blue for boys.
This is soooo traditional it's embarrassing.
But combining ballet pink with coral and gray puts a bit of a twist (and somewhat retro) on this
traditional girly-girl favorite.

Don't get me wrong -
I'm not saying we need or want to pigeon-hole our kids into certain color traditions.
I'm also not so sure that so many little girls would be drawn to all things pink, lavender and girlie
if they weren't bombarded by endless aisles of pink and lavender in the "girl" toy aisles and the media.
What they need is OPTIONS and this is only one of MANY.

so now it's time to share your thoughts.
and next wed. one random winner
will receive 1 yard of each of the "its a girl" prints shown above.

Next wed. will be all about BOYS!

I ABSOLUTELY love the fabric with the elephants!! SO freaking cute! I love anything girl. For our wedding we used pink, black, and white, and it is amazing what you can do with those three colors! I seriously keep looking back at the elephant fabric and keeping telling myself how I need to go purchase some now! <3

With only 1 daughter and 3 sons my daughter never wore pink! she still dislikes it!

I love pink for girls, but I've been looking for something a little different than the traditional nursery. For my daughter, I'm creating a neutral grey base for her nursery, with some sparkle in mirror and crystal accessories. I was debating between pink or purple coordinating colors, but after seeing these fabrics from Michael Miller, I'm hooked! I love this color combination! I can't wait to make her beautiful bedding and show it off to everyone!

I have been "michael millered" this week. With so many collection children at play, botanika, red and aqua, citron available this week I ordered fabrics to my heart's content.

Though I love this collection I thought I will wait till I open my next budget for my fabric stash.

Thanks for the giveaway.

OK, I am a girl..kind of on the biggish oldish side..and I love these colors.
I sew for and with a lot of girls, have a couple dozen nieces and some "adopted" girls.. and I have to say the colors they are a lovin are pinks with blacks.. some want a dash of turquoise or something else, but pink and black seems to be the hottest of the coolest right now!

I'm a girl, but typically not into pink. But when it is Michael Miller pink, I just love it!!

While pink is one of my favorite colors, I usually purposefully avoid it because I find it too easy to go overboard...I love this collection because yes it is pink but just the right amount!

I have four daughters and one granddaughter . . . I never get tired of "girl" colors. Love this color story and the combos that Michael Miller puts together.

I never worn pink clothes, because my favourite colour was red (and still is). And I wasn't going to have much pink clothes for my daughter. But to my regret, our girl looks so beautiful when she is in pink! :) And I found that this colour fits me, too.

These fabrics are gorgeous !
When I had my first daughter and she requested pink, I was reluctant.
Throughout the pregnancy I thought I'd get a boy and I had difficulties adjusting so I always dressed her as a tough girl.
At her age of 3 I found her a plain pink dress with ruffles and from then on, pink was born.
I found out that pink really matches every other color, even army green/camouflage.
Pink has become my household color: combined with brown in the curtains, with red in the candles, with green in the flowers, with silver in the pillows and as a flashy eyecatcher: a big carpet.
My eldest daughter is now 11 years old, my youngest -who is an all pink girl- is 4 and she's wearing that pink dress with ruffles. My newborn is a boy and I am looking forward to dressing him in that same pink dress XD

I agree that we don't want to pigeonhole our children, but then we don't want to buck tradition too much. So this pink grey combo is awesome. It's SO "now". My sister-in-law is doing the Susan G Komen 3-day 60 mile walk and I think these prints would be awesome to make some accessories for her walk. Thanks!

It may be "traditional" but its never boring when you put a modern twist on it such as what you have done. Im partial to raspberry pink and chocolate.

Love this fabric line - I don't do much children's sewing, but the dots, stripes, and graphics look very sophisticated in this color combination. MM rocks again!

I love the color and pattern combinations. It's these type of patterns and colors that I look for when it comes to my daughter. She's a girly girl tomboy and loves a broad range of things, including colors and patterns.
